Patient data management is a key issue for critical care, as a variety of workers throughout the National Health Service (NHS) have the need to access, view, amend or report on records generated through an episode of care within a unit or even multiple units. The complexity of this need is compounded by factors such as statutory requirements, internal improvement needs, and NHS patients receiving episodes of care at multiple care locations.
The BadgerNet Platform, produced and managed by Clevermed Ltd., provides a complete Managed Service solution for live patient data management for maternity as well as paediatric and neonatal critical care across the N3 NHSNet. This solution creates the facility for secure mission-critical data collection, viewing, and reporting infrastructure for complete Electronic Medical Record keeping wherever that care takes place.
The BadgerNet Platform care record is made up of one or more Care Episodes. Each Care Episode is associated with a single Care Location.
A Care Location is a single Neonatal Unit, Maternity Unit, Paediatric Unit, or Transport Team. Each Care Location "owns" the Care Episodes associated with it, and only users authorised by their local BadgerNet User Manager from that Care Location can create or edit patient data. This means that each Care Location has its own distinct list of users that are allowed to amend the Care Episode Records from that Care Location. A single hospital may have more than one Care Location.
Care Episodes are "joined" to form a single patient record view that can be read by all authorised BadgerNet users associated with any Care Location that the patient has been cared by. This "joining" is done when all Care Episodes have the same National ID (NHS Number England / CHI Number Scotland / H&C Number Northern Ireland)
The BadgerNet UK Platform provides patient data collection, viewing and reporting services for a variety of Care Episodes.
